Happy Jewish New Year! A Time to Repent and Be Thankful!

Today is Rosh Hashanah. This is the start of the Jewish Year 5769. According to prophecy for this year, this year is supposed to be "A Year of GOODNESS in the Midst of SUFFERING." The purpose of Rosh Hashanah is not just to celebrate a new year, but to intentionally set aside time to repent and to stand back in awe of God. To thank him for his goodness.

Obviously, we are in the midst of a national economic crisis. People are suffering everywhere financially and some are barely surviving. My family was in that very spot earlier this year and it is with this sensitivity that I take today to lift those who are suffering right now up to the Lord in prayer that GOODNESS will overtake them!

I also ask for repentance for any wrong attitude, distraction that my mind has allowed to enter in that would prevent me from following what the Lord has for my family, or any other thing that I have done to slight another.
But most of all, I am excited to announce today that this HAS turned into a Year of Goodness for our family! Today we found out that the bid we placed on the house we love in Cincinnati has been accepted! Now we only have a few more strings to tie before the move.

I was hoping to learn this information last week on my birthday or my daughter's birthday (more on those parties to come). But it seems so right that it was today. Last year, God used Rosh Hashanah to prepare my heart with a new perspective as we were blessed weeks later to have our house miraculously painted. At that time, I was wondering how neat it would be if we had a new house at the same time the following year... not knowing it would actually that way. Well, it wasn't the same time to the date. Actually, Rosh Hashanah happened this year after mine and my daughter's birthdays. Whereas last year, the holiday ushered in blessings, this year it is a summing up of blessings. I still can't believe how God was SO good to supernaturally, in his grace, literally snatch my husband from one job (what we experienced as suffering) and plant him in another (goodness beyond our dreams).

I'll post more when the house closes!

How has God transformed your life?

I really enjoy reading your posts. I have to make myself come here more often. Happy Jewish New Year to you. The prophecy for this year is so going to fit in all situations. Yes, hard times will have to be endured, but blessing will be amidst the trouble.

Great post. Have a blessed day.
